The Nottoway County Board of Supervisors delegates the daily operation of the county to its County Administration Office. The County Administrator serves as consultant and advisor to the Board of Supervisors and is responsible for managing virtually all county government functions, as well as coordinating with other local governments, state and federal agencies. The County Administration Office is responsible for the development of a budget that encompasses all county revenues and expenditures.

The County Administration Office oversees the county’s central accounting department, building inspection department, planning and zoning department, animal control, economic development, emergency management, solid waste management department, and E911 maintenance operations. The office also serves as the repository of board minutes, ordinances, and resolutions.

The Administration Office serves as the point of initial contact for Nottoway County citizens and others with questions about Nottoway County.
