Like every other locality, Nottoway is required by section 2.1-380.B of the Virginia code to present a privacy policy statement on the County’s Web site.

This statement merely explains our Internet privacy protection policies; the information expressed here is not intended as a contract of any sort, and should not be construed to grant any contractual rights to users of this site.

This Web site has been developed as a convenience for the Citizens of Nottoway County, and for potential visitors or businesses. Every reasonable effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information provided herein; however, Nottoway County cannot warrant that all information is current or free from error. Accordingly, neither The County of Nottoway, nor any employee, officer, or department of the County, warrants the accuracy of information found on this site, nor endorses any business or organization that may appear in these pages. Users of this site agree not to hold Nottoway County liable for any losses caused by the use of information appearing in any section thereof. Users are strongly urged to verify any information with the relevant department before relying on the reliability and/or timeliness of such information for a specific purpose.

Nottoway County’s privacy policy can be expressed very simply: We are committed to respecting your privacy, and we therefore will collect no personal information about you during your visit to this site. (This site does NOT employ “cookies” — small files that some Web sites can deposit on your computer to track information about your visit to those sites.)

If you choose to communicate with a Nottoway official or department through the e-mail addresses available on this site, that correspondence will be treated with the same discretion that letters sent to us are treated. We only collect personal information when it is necessary to respond to your request or need, and we only share that information with another government agency if your need relates to that agency, or if we are required to do so by law.
