9-1-1 is your emergency hotline for immediate access to law enforcement,
fire, and emergency medical services. It is a free call from a pay
phone. Call 9-1-1 to report a crime, fire, heart attack, or other
serious medical condition or injury, or any situation requiring
immediate response of a fire truck, ambulance or law enforcement
vehicle.
When you call 9-1-1, the Dispatcher will need to know:
LOCATION OF THE EMERGENCY
PHONE NUMBER WHERE THE EMERGENCY IS
NATURE OF THE EMERGENCY
For all calls it is important to:
STAY CALM
SPEAK CLEARLY
STAY ON THE PHONE UNTIL TOLD TO HANG UP
Please remember, do not call 9-1-1 for road, travel, or weather
information; auto repairs or keys locked in the vehicle; or complaints
of loud noise, littering, etc.
All prisoners are housed at the Piedmont Regional Jail (434-392-1601),
in Farmville. The jail was constructed by and is operated under the authority
of a regional consortium of counties, Nottoway County being a charter
member of the group.
